Teaching and Training
For more than a decade, I have been teaching interpersonal communication skills to a variety of clients. I have focused on teaching communication skills as communication is central to relationships. Relationships are vital to how we live and work. Among these skills are communication techniques related to
- building rapport;
- influencing and persuading;
- asking effective questions;
- eliciting information; and
- identifying deception.
I am in the process of updating all these skills to the revised Quick to Hear model.
I will eventually offer many of my training programs and assessment tools online at CourseCraft. Click the image below.
Coaching and Counseling
In addition to my training programs, I have worked with both organizations and individuals helping them use good communication skills to build relationships and become more effective in doing what they do. This process consists of meeting with members of the organization and developing a program designed just for them; one that meets their goals and objectives. I administer assessments and use the results as points of discussion during subsequent training sessions and interactive sessions where we apply what we have learned to achieving the organizations goals.
As a trained mediator, I can also help organizations deal with conflicts that hinder their ability to achieve their organizational goals. During the mediation process, we follow the four step Quick to Hear mediation process, which includes use of effective communication techniques instead of unhealthy ones that are generally associated with conflict.
